Some key information about Thirukkural an ancient Tamil writing.
Also known as Kural.
Written by poet saint Thiruvalluvar.
Old by about 2000 years plus.
Thiruvalluvar the author lived in mylapore, in Chennai.
Contains 133 chapters.
Each chapter contains 10couplets.
In all there are 1330 couplets.
Each couplet contains about seven words.
Thirukkural is divided into three major parts
1.Arathu pal - Chapters 1 to 38
2.Porut pal - Chapters 39 to 108
3.Kamathu pal - Chapters 109 to 133
Thiruvalluvar has delved into all aspects of human life.
The beauty is that any person from any part of the world can read any time and benefit from it.

Madras was the first city to have had trams in India.
It was 6 years later,other cities including London got Trams.
Sad part is Trams not there in Chennai (present name of then Madras) today.
Trams still operate in Kolkotta.
